45 years in parks and recreation. 23 years in Livermore. 15 years running LARPD. And he’s not done yet...
Tim Barry is a retired LARPD General Manager who is running for the LARPD Board of Directors on November 3.
Why?
Because he is personally and professionally invested in Livermore.
Tim spent his career building parks, trails, recreation programs and community spaces — including the $26 million Robert Livermore Community Center, Bruno Canziani Park, Holdener Park, Cayetano Park, improvements at Robertson Park, trail projects and neighborhood playgrounds.
He knows LARPD from the inside out. He also knows what it takes to manage a public agency, balance a budget and make taxpayer dollars work harder.
But Tim isn't just spreadsheets and budgets.
He's a husband, dad, former youth sports coach, musician, Rotarian and longtime community volunteer. And yes, after all these years, he still spends time making music around town.
His goals are pretty simple:
More fun.
More recreation.
Safe, beautiful parks and trails.
Smart financial decisions.
And a community that actually gets out and enjoys the place we call home.
As Tim puts it: “I love this District and I love this community.”
Now he's ready to get back to work.
Meet Tim. Ask questions. Bring ideas. And get to know the guy who spent 45 years making parks - and Livermore! - better.
